Our Mission

Our mission is to set the captives free. To restore not only the freedom of humans incarcerated, but to give them their dignity, respect and life back.

Through stories.
Through education.
Through awareness.
Through truth.

To bring hope to the hopeless, and light to those in the darkest confined spaces.

Incarceration is an inhumane and barbaric way to treat a living, breathing human-being.

No one should have the right to imprison another human being for non-violent offenses. Not the Government, police, nor the law. The majority of criminal offenses are non-violent and there is no injured party. Almost half of people in federal prison are serving time for drug trafficking. These are simply individuals that generally have no job opportunities or education for job opportunities readily available. The path of selling drugs is simply the path of entrepreneurship. The path of opportunity.

Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in prison and later went on to become the president of South Africa.

“It is said that no one truly knows a nation until one has been inside its jails. A nation should not be judged by how it treats its highest citizens, but its lowest ones.”

― Nelson Mandela

  • A question to ponder: How well does our nation treat its lowest citizens?
Tupac spent 9 months in prison, and is one of the most popular poets and rappers of all time.

What I learned in jail is that I can’t change. I can’t live a different lifestyle – this is it. This is the life that they gave and this is the life that I made.

– Tupac Shakur
